GNE, The BREAD OF LIFE EDITION - Artist's Design Concept

In a society where “stacking one’s bread” (i.e.: money) is quite the obsession for some, this edition takes the opportunity to draw a few parallels with how the Bible mentions bread and the much deeper meaning it embodies.

Check out the six point design breakdown & gallery below:

I

”IN GOD WE TRU$T” emulates what’s printed on all American currency that’s indicative of our nation’s political and economic prosperity being in God’s hands. The substitution of the dollar sign for the letter ”S” in the word TRUST hints towards the trust some of us wrongfully, and sometimes unknowingly, put in the actual currency itself verses in God like we should.

II

”GIVE US LORD, OUR DAILY . . .” is the intro to the photo of bread and is inspired by the scripture Matthew 6:11 where Jesus is teaching on how to pray. The verbiage within this depiction is also inspired by the scripture John 6:33 where Jesus explains to the crowd that He is the bread of God that came from heaven to give life to the world.

III

The slices of bread signify the communion portion of the body of Jesus which He gave for the redemption of mankind from sin. This depiction is inspired by the scripture Luke 22:19 where Jesus broke bread with his disciples, blessed it, and gave it to them advising them to eat of it in memory of Him.

IV

”YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, TO START RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE. (KEYWORD: “START”) (IMPLIED WORD: ”FAITH”) is the GNE motto. As it pertains to this edition, the motto is to encourage whomever it resonates with that despite your monetary status: keep the faith, pray for wisdom, start right where you are with what you have and believe that God will provide whatever you need, whenever you need it, along the way.

V

The barcode’s invalidity by a single red line signifies the cost of redemption for our souls byway of Jesus’ obedience to God’s will. This depiction is inspired by three scriptures. John 3:16 and John 3:17 which shares that God so loved the world, that He gave the ultimate sacrifice to save us: His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. The third scripture is John 6:35 where Jesus declares He is the bread of life: those that come to Him will never go hungry and those that believe in Him will never thirst.

VI

A king’s ransom is defined as being an exceedingly large sum of money required to acquire the freedom of a king. GNE Collect 4 : The King’s Ransom is named as such in honor of God, the Father, redeeming mankind back to Him through God, the Son. This idiom is written in such a way as to indicate a possessive nature through the word “King’s”, denoting the highest ransom ever paid in history: when Jesus laid down His life to save ours.

Deciding on a huge loaf of bread for this edition's background photo was a strategically used pun meant to draw attention to a more important underlying message.

Don’t be so focused on the bread fed into your bank account that you forget to feed your soul. You're bre(a)d different, literally AND figuratively. When you realize that, you'll realize you've been rich all along.
